Shabby Apple

One of my favorite dress sites (that I've never ordered from) is having a giveaway on the Broken Fortress Blog.  I love Shabby Apple dresses, although they are like everything else, out of my price range.  Courtney loves them, too.  Some day, some day.  Here is my wishlist, so you can see how cool (and modest) the dresses are.  If you click on them, it will take you to the site.

  1. Kristin,

I love Shabby Apple too. I also can't afford anything but it is nice to look. There are times it is hard to find modest clothing. Years ago I was shopping for school clothes for my daughter and every single thing was low cut or spaghetti strapped or - you get the picture. Another woman was looking as well for her daughter and I noticed that she would pull an item off the rack, sigh, and put it back. I asked her if she was having trouble finding anything and she said she was. I said to her after a few minutes "What are they trying to do - make sluts out of our daughters?" She chuckled and said that it certainly seemed that way.
I have two nieces that dress, on occation, not very modestly and after leaving I usually talk to my daughter about their dress and point out the inappropriateness of their choice. Got to reenforce morals while you can!
I hope you are well and are able to hang on by the skin of your teeth. Still praying for you.

    1. Thank you for your prayers, keep 'em coming! I HATE shopping for my daughters. It's gross out there. My two youngest will still wear Lands End dresses, but the 12-year-old thinks they're too young for her. Try shopping in that age category. My oldest daughter is 5'10" so everything looks short on her. I also have several relatives who let their daughters dress like I never would. It's hard.

  2. I love them, too! However, my price range is definitely a mere tenthish of these dresses. Good luck in the giveaway! I hope you win something lovely :).

  3. Hey Kristen,

Totally different topic that just occurred to me - I have a great movie that is something that your entire family can watch. It is called "The Other Side of Heaven." It is a story about a young Mormon man on his mission. Yes, my family are Mormons and no, I'm not "pushing" my religion. I just remember you talking about hoping to find a decent movie and this one just popped into my mind. If you don't want to watch this movie because of religious difference that's fine. It is just a good movie about a young man trying to bring people to Christ.

P.S. It is based on a true story.

    1. Sounds like a great movie. I watch movies about different religions often. It does not offend me! Fiddler on the Roof comes to mind, an alltime favorite. I will check it out, thanks.

    2. I hope you enjoy it!

Read today's posting - I know you have thought about this but I'm going to ask anyway - Have you thought about finding a lawyer that does pro bono work? Maybe one who doesn't get paid unless you do? Because sweetie you need so much more help than you are able to get on your own. I remember the lawyer(counsel?) you had for the divorce but maybe you could get another for help with the state and your taxes. I hope this comment doesn't make you more exasparated - I only want to help and if I could send you money I would.
