So in researching the Husky guidelines (CT state insurance), a family of 6 including single mother, can make up to $55,400 and qualify. IF tbj paid every last penny of child support court ordered every week for a year, we would receive $33,000. AND we are a family of 9 (8 minor children). Doesn't quite add up to me, especially considiering I make about $75 a month substitute teaching. So why did I just receive a letter in the mail stating I lost our insurance to to our excessive income?!
Very good question and no answer on Monday when I called DSS and left a message, or Wednesday when I called again, nor on Thursday and Friday when I called yet again and again. Guess I'll have to make an appearance after my Dr.'s appt. on Monday, hope it's covered.
Here's some more math: this month tbj has confirmed and showed to all Kidsafe visits, at a cost of $1075, he paid $300 to file the lawsuit (yep, he filed it), and he paid $250 for the sherriff to bring it to my home and hand it to my child. That's over $1600 the children (all 11 of them) could have used for college expenses, uncovered medical expenses, clothes, shoes, school supplies, extra food, you name it. How selfish can one person be?
Here's even more math: it's been 3 1/2 months since he was ordered to set up counseling, that's 107 days that he couldn't pick up the phone, to save the youngest three hours of torture, and to comply with his court order. Hopefully our motion will come up soon.
Back in the day we had tv, there was some kid's show which would always end with, "This is the song that never ends,..." Can't think of which one at the moment, but it sure describes my life.
I'm so sorry. :/
ReplyDeleteHave you brought this to a state senator or governor?
ReplyDeleteWe are praying for you- but this is unreal!
lambchops playalong i believe.
ReplyDeletecant you do anything to him? i know its not christian but i would start filing motions against him for any little thing i could make up and make HIM miserable! :/ he sounds like a low life punk who doesnt need to even breathe the same air as his kids! just remember, when they are grown, he will find himself completely and utterly alone, and it will drive him CRAZY. he wont have anyone to control anymore.
Don't rely on trying to talk to somebody to fix this. Appeal the decision (the information to appeal should be on the back of the letter informing you that it has been discontinued). They will have to continue the insurance pending your appeal. After you have appealed (within the legal time frame), you can worry about trying to reach somebody to explain.
ReplyDeleteThat song is from Lampchop. Yep.
