Comment on the Courant Story

Let me preface to say, that the people I worked with on this were absolutely wonderful.  Shana, the photo-journalist made this all happen, and literally took thousands of pictures of me and my children over the course of several days; a day spent following us about our business in the old house, a night watching us pray the Breviary, and the whole day of our move from beginning to end.  Ken, the reporter came and spoke to me at length at the old and new houses, stayed for the move, and spoke to the children, as well as several emails and phone calls, and Chloe from Fox 61 also was present on moving day and stayed for dinner.

Yet, I do want to make a few comments on what I just read.  Fr. Tito was 100 % responsible for the house becoming ours, yet I did not call him and ask for one.  I heard there was the possibility of a house for rent near him, which turned out to be taken, after that he looked on his own and contacted me when I was on the verge of giving up.  The miracle part is entirely true.

The only other point I would like to make is the "three marriages" thing.  That always sounds extraordinarily terrible every time I hear it.  Tbj always brought it up to whoever he could, simply trying to make me look bad.  He was married twice, himself, three times if you count the one he was "married" to while still married to me.  Those of you who have read my book have gotten the full explanation, and I am not really sure why I feel it necessary to explain myself here, but I am simply embarrassed.  Why did he have to mention it in the article?

The condensed version: Marriage one, I was seventeen and stupid, he was on drugs, unfaithful, and abusive.  After a year of running home to Mommy and Daddy, I simply stayed there and received a simple annulment as I was not a practicing Catholic and not married in the Church.  Marriage two, he was unfaithful with my sister.  Ditto the annulment.  Really people, I am an intelligent woman, I simply lack common sense.  But I'm working on it!

  4. The past doesn't matter anyway... it's how you live your life now that should count :)

  5. Isn't it funny that even the best journalists make mistakes- and probably can't hide their agenda?
